They are easy to maintain and replace. The maintenance of valves are especially important as they are the main parts in proper and problem-free working of compressors. Drain Valve Intake Filter Stg.This is quite important for the service life of compressor.Replacement of the valves can be made by ALKIN Service Personnel or a trained costumer. Edited to add: I already have a backpressure regulator (priority valve) installed at the outlet on the top of the filter canister.Global Manufacturing has them. Page 38 of the catalog, part number 47240 (steel), 47241 (ss) or 47242 (brass) You will probably need to cut off some of the cooling coil to make it shorter so everthing fits. Is that a faruled fitting with teflon tape in it. You'll likely need to get a new tube fitting.or at least a new farule for around the tubing. Keep in mind that faruled fittings are designed to be crushed once, if you break them and then try to re-connect them, they tend to leak (hence the teflon?) The check valve at the outlet of the filter will not keep the canister pressurized when the system is not running, it will only prevent air from going backwards through the system. What you want is called a back pressure regulator, which will keep your filter stack pressurized. This will also make the media in the filters more efficient. Keep in mind that if you open your manual drains, you will depressurize the system, and the bleed the pressure out of your filter stack, inspite of the back pressure regulator. Putting a check valve ahead of the filter stack, will prevent you from depressurizing it, as air will not be allowed to go out the inlet to the filter stack. The Back pressure regulator has two outlet ports, one is regulated, the other is not. Put a stop valve at the unregulated port, this will allow you to depressurize the filter stack for media replacement. http://schlammatlas.de/en/node/16348 This way your filter stack will be pressurized at all time, even when the compressor is not running and the drain valves are open.It is my understanding that with the priority valve on the outlet (top) and a check valve on the inlet (bottom), my filter canister should remain pressurized. I depressurize my filter canister by opening up the manual moisture drain per Alkin's instructions. If I'm thinking about this right, to repressurize, I would need to run the compressor for a minute or so after changing filter media. If I'm wrong, I hope someone will jump in and let me know. I don't quite understand how I can leave my drain valves open without depressurizing the filter canister. By the way, does anyone know how much the 3rd stage coiled tubing can be bent or moved without damaging it? Thanks!Maintaining a few psi in the filter canister will take care of it. This can be done by shutting the petcock before the last bit of air is expelled. Installing a check valve at the input would be nice but could be tricky. There may not be enough room to rotate a street elbow without striking the canister. So, the boss fitting in the canister might have to be removed temporarily. This kind of stuff, unless absolutely crucial, should be avoided. It is unlikely that humid air could travel from the compressor to the filter if all cocks are closed including the interseparator. It cannot be drained completely but even so, shutting off the outside air is not just a good idea, it is absolutely necessary. Only a bender should be used for such tight turns. Some less radical bending can be done by hand but is difficult due to the stiffness of even light tubing. The tubing can be cut with a high quality tubing cutter. The bender does not have to be anything special. I dislike swadgelok type fittings and I hate those Bauer ferulok things but what you got is what you have to live with. Purchase spare ferrules.I have removed boss fittings before and agree I have to be very careful in doing so. http://galletta.com/images/brother-mfc-5890-service-manual.pdf If the job seems too risky whenever I receive the parts, I'll probably just leave it alone. If it looks like it can be done without bending coiled tubing too much, then I may give it a try. Thanks!Oh, and has anyone figured out whether in this application a check valve opens when pumping commences, and stays open, or cycles like an extra cylinder valve. I would think the former, since there's the HP separator to act as a buffer, but if the latter, then one might want to use a check valve that could stand rapid and continuous cycling.Maybe some things are made with a mixture of metric and standard parts, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I also believe I was told that the check valve stays open when pumping commences. As you can tell, I'm not up on Alkin specs, etc., but maybe others will chime in and answer these questions. My plan right now is to get the parts in the mail in a couple of days, and then try to install them and see what happens. Thanks!Once back pressure develops the air flow seen by the valve will be continuous. My old Bauer Capitano uses a mix of ASME, ANSI and metric. The repackager has a say also.BSP is close enough to NP that a lot of people never realize the difference. Some people recommend running the appropriate NPT tap through before using an NPT or NGT fitting in a BSP hole. Or at the very least using a dollop of an extra-good thread sealant. Adaptors are also available, from M-C and others.Oh, any thoughts on using a plain old shutoff valve instead of a check? Easy but maybe not cheap. Swagelok makes a very nice line of compact 6000 psi CH-series check valve which are only about 2' long, and they are available with Swagelok compression tube fittings on the ends. You could cut one of these into the straight section at the top of the coil, and completely avoid touching the fittings at the base of the tower. Only problem, is, the Swagelok valves are not cheap. https://agribusiness.pk/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1628c2607d0997---Capintec-crc-15r-pet-manual.pdf Since 2000, ScubaBoard has been the place to go for internet based discussions related to all things Scuba. However, the lure ofI take this tank to the dive shop to be filled with straight air (21), which I then use. After justTo make up a trimix bailout in my 80cfAt 32km each way, dive shop trips do also add time and gas costs to the equation. That is, until I started hearing about the Alkin line of compressors. After reading about the AlkinThe Alkin is a low-volume compressor that has garneredFurther investigation showed that they are reliable and quite a bit cheaper than manyAfter looking through the various on-line catalogs of Alkin compressors, I chose the W31It was inexpensive (compared to other brands), quiet and small enough for home use. Lucky for me there is a fairly close dealer forI sent in the cheque, and less than a week later I had my brand new shiny AlkinThe unit arrived in a nice wooden crate with all components included. The unit is very well built,I went to Home Depot and pickedStart up, run-in, operational and shut-down procedures are well laid out. There is an option to add automated drains. Since price was a consideration in my purchase decision, I optedBesides, most of the tanks in rebreather diving are small, so there is little requirement to buildThe unit appears to come only with a yoke fill whip, but onceMy DIN fitting was stiff,So any technical divers - don't fret - the Alkin W31 comesAlso shown is the fill whip sitting in aI bought components and built an industrial (welder) 240V to L6 extension cord,As per the manual, I ran the unit with all drains open (0 pressure buildup) for 10 minutes to season the compressor. To accomodate this, the stove outlet onThe bag of flour just happens to be in the picture. agrobrasilia.com/userfiles/files/96-plymouth-grand-voyager-repair-manual.pdf I had several tanks that needed to be refilled so was eager to get up to his place to check it out. Production activities take place in Menderes, Izmir at our 16500m2 site with 3500m2 indoors. Today their products appeal to different sectors, they offer fast, high quality service and their recognition in domestic and foreign markets is rising. Alkin is a leading supplier of compressors in Turkey and since foundation they are proud to say a great proportion of their production is exported abroad to countries including USA, Canada, France, Russia, Indonesia, South Korea, Australia, UAE, Finland, Sweden, the United Kingdom amongst others. Research and Development work continues in order to provide useful additions to their product range, continuous development and increased options for customers. This is a very large industrial type unit that you would expect to find in a Dive shop, pretty much the ultimate for any Airgun enthusiast. Doug started the compressor that I had anticipated being very loud considering how large it is, this was not the case at all. The Alkin is very quiet and has little vibration, this is due to the low RPM of the motor as well as the beefy frame and rubber feet. This unit came with all the fittings, fill yoke etc, VERY nice quality gauge, hoses and lines. The advantage of the low RPM is less heat build up making your compressor last much longer (lifetime for most PCP users) and a big plus is your tank will lose less psi as it cools and you will keep your high PSI fill pressure. The heads have large cooling fins as well as aluminum head caps that really keep the temperatures down. We measured the temperature under the highest loads at 147 degrees. The side of the case has a very conveniently placed window to check oil levels. The purifier cartridge is easily repackable as well. Most of the tanks we filled took between five and eight minutes depending on the size and starting pressures. http://frederickfollows.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/1628c260ab63d6---capf3636b6-manual.pdf This compressor is very high end and something that has been designed to run forever with normal maintenance. The Alkin is truly one of the best units available but just not widely known as an option for the serious Airgunner. I will enclose the short video documenting my time with the compressor along with the link to where to buy this unit. Feel free to contribute! Learn how your comment data is processed. Production activities take place in Izmir Turkey and New Jersey. Today our products appeal to different sectors, we offer fast, high quality service and our recognition in domestic and foreign markets is rising. Alkin Compressor is a leading high pressure air compressor manufacturer in the world for designing scuba compressors, paintball compressors, airgun compressors, fill stations and purifying systems. What is less well known is that there were a number of logistical difficulties along the way for the British divers. Stanton and Volanthen decided that they should conduct a reconnaissance dive to get a better understanding of the situation. Both men had flown with empty 7-litre cylinders. Now, they urgently needed to get them filled. This should have been a straight forward process, but it wasn’t. Eventually, Stanton and Volanthen found a small compressor that the Seals used. It was located next to the press conference area. “The media were not impressed when cylinder filling coincid.Find Our Locations Download Center Download our latest catalogs, manuals and part lists. I had several tanks that needed to be refilled so was eager to get up to his place to check it out.Well known for his design and development of the components that modify these rifles to perform at long ranges, some well over 1000 yards. Doug’s Condors are near the ultimate of custom airguns and their isn’t much room for improvement I might add.I was excited to unbox the compressor and get it into the field and see how well it worked. I had spent several days prior reading about it as well as taking down some ideas for my video review of it.This rifle is one of the hot picks of 2019 so I was very excited to get a chance to field use this awesome rifle. I received the rifle and was very pleased with the packing of it in a very well formed shipping box. This is a rifle I had some great interest in as I felt it was something different and unique from other Airguns. The Seneca Aspen is a very innovative Air Rifle that is built with a pump integrated into it, this means we always have an available air source to keep us in the field. We had a van as well driven by Doug Noble and Tom Costan that was loaded with guns, gear and a ton of lead.We had to take Nick’s truck that was loaded to capacity with the good amount of supplies and gear needed to sustain us for the several days ahead. The ASP20 was shipped to us directly from the Sig Sauer facility in Newington, New Hampshire. www.china-vitai.com/userfiles/files/96-pathfinder-manual.pdf The black soft touch rifle was delivered in excellent condition along with two magazines, adjustment tools and detailed manual. This was a rifle that caught my eye due to it’s folding stock and tactical ergonomics that looked to make for a great field gun. I reached out to Airguns Of Arizona and was finally able to settle them to send me the Commander HP model with the desert Tan Cerakote. But because of that I have a few questions that play into the consideration. This would make it plausible, I don’t mind half lifeing o-rings if it will survive a good while at a time. Maybe not even a consideration due to speed, I’m not sure. I want 4500 psi fills for sure !! This guy has an excellent reputation, Best to deal with is August Industries if I recall properly. I would be willing to bet the Airetex is as good but doesn’t have a long track record but Bruce Dodson is the owner and a poster on the yellow from time to time. Here’s a post reply by Bruce earlier this month: It is designed and made in America. We do source parts from around the world but MOST of cost and all of the labor is America. I do purchase the 2nd and third stage heads from ALKIN in Turkey but that is all that comes from there. AireTex 45 Compressor is very heavy duty, runs at a low RPM. AireTex 45 runs at 1050 RPM, all others run over 2100 RPM with the Coltri running 2800. In the 8 CFM range most all brands are good and in fact most share many similar parts. But on the small ones most are not durable and have many problems. I tried to eliminate those problems by design. Better internally balanced, lower RPM,larger, longer and heavier rods. The crankshaft is supported on both ends with large bearings. The ALKIN W31 we used to sell until 2006 was good in many ways but only supported by bearings on back fan side. We found that caused problems and failures. The larger ALKIN compressors are very good and we still sell those. We do many things different than the others. On a three stage compressor the first stage is large and builds pressure to say 100 PSI and into second stage that is much smaller. That is how most everyone else does it but it creates a few problems they have not addressed. Smaller piston is lighter so they are not internally balanced. Smaller piston does not have same room for rods, bearings and piston causing quick wear. I addressed those issues by making the lighter piston steel machined to exact weight instead of traditional aluminum. Now my rotating assembly is internally balanced. By making the smaller piston steel I was also able to eliminate the wear that all of the others have such a problem with. On the 3 rd stage floating piston I designed it similar to a valve on an airgun. Now it has well over twice the surface area and does not destroy the crosshead piston below it. Those things make the AireTex 45 in my opinion the best portable made with the Bauer a good one to. There is not another compressor made under 4 CFM that I would recommend at any price. There are other design things we have done to make ours better but I do not think I need to be telling all of my secrets. Now they used to make a very nice military compressor but those are no longer available, they are hard to repair and parts are not available. My years of building aircraft, working on airguns and building racing car motors have gave me a different look at how to design and build compressors. Now I will say this the AireTex 45 weighs over 175 and some are around 120 and one is under 100 Lbs but they will not last as long. Now the AireTex 45 is also larger size so in addition to the weight it requires two people to pick up it is the best portable made in my opinion. Hope I answered all of your questions and if you have any more just ask. We have 5 guys filling there tanks to 4600 and it works like a dream. I got this one used from a gov sale and had new pressure switch and filters installed and checked out by a dealer. its a great compressor. The service guy told me any time I have any trouble with it he has all the parts in his van to fix it. Try ebay I’ve seen some on there and don’t be afraid to buy a used one. But watch out for the voltage some have 3 phase motors on them that could be a issue for some people Bauer is GTG in my book, I have a 12 year old gas idv model that is a tank. It has well over 15,000 hours on it. I bought it new and had my first failure with it 2 months ago. The honda motor that drives the comp, has been rebuilt twice so far but the comprssor keeps going. Other than that it has been a great machine, just change the oil and filters from time to time as recomended in the manual.I use one and keep one topped.I have yet to shoot When i had the Bobcat.30 it loved to consume the air my setup hasn’t let me down. So thats my cycle wipe it down and relube prior to or after each use.I use one and keep one topped.I have yet to shoot When i had the Bobcat.30 it loved to consume the air my setup hasn’t let me down. So thats my cycle wipe it down and relube prior to or after each use.I was concerned i had to stop in the middle of top off fills and lube service the f8 or it might die and need rebuilt on too short of intervals. If i can top off in 3 hours without dealing with it midstream, i can set it and forget it and that makes it work fir me pretty well. I was panicking a bit with air consumption when shooting this 30, so to speak. The other factor for me is when i travel to shoot i can be portable with my Honda 2000I generators i keep at home for power outages since no part of the system needs 230v and or weighs more than 40 pounds. Il just shop for a couple of tank deals for now since that is what I need either way.Little information on reliability yet. Quite a bit faster than an F8. Dr steel just got one but only got to use it once i think. That’s how quiet it is. Did you see someone chatted on Dr. Steele’s ID. Is there any reason to choose one over the other. The Airetex is near in price to these two, but there hasn’t been too much mention of them lately. TIA, Jack Is there any reason to choose one over the other. The 34-page documentation is for model 130-R-1500 powered by a 14.5 amp single-phase 110 volt AC motor that turned the compressor at 3450 rpm. This compressor was designed specifically for filling SCUBA tanks and was rated at 3,000 PSI and 1.75 cubic feet of free air per minute. It had an oil-water separator-filter. The compressor assembly consisted of a radial, three-stage piston air compressor, driven directly by the integral AC motor. This unique compressor had no piston rings and used poppet-type pistons that eliminate the need for intake valve mechanisms. The 1st and 2nd stages incorporated relief valves to prevent excessive interstage pressures. It was constructed with ball and needle bearings throughout.
