Yes, I have put the laser and detector on the wrong machines, I have stood with the movable on my left side and wondered why it was getting worse when I was correcting the horizontal, and some silly things like that. I did reverse indicator method with diagram for several years before getting the rotolign and didn't have any problems with that, other than time. But why would I have to rethink anything when using a laser? D The Fixturlaser uses 2 beams and the whole time your doing it, you're looking at 2 dial indicators. He wanted to insure laser was functioning properly by checking with reverse indicator method-had he been using a product made by Fixturlaser his readings would have been the same or only off by Bar Sag amount.When your in move function for shim change-if it says positive.005 you add shim. Fixturelaser says positive.005 (like looking at an indicator) you remove.005 shim I had a squirrel moment, or senior moment, or cranial rectal insertion moment. But I think the rotolign I have takes a beam and shines it through two grids that are back to back. It measures where the beam strikes the front grid, where it strikes the back grid, and knowing the distance between them and all the measurements you gave it, can calculate where you're at.
